At Seafood Kijkduin on the Deltapromenade in Kijkduin, you can enjoy fresh herring year-round. Our Hollandse Nieuwe is brought in fresh from the North Sea each season and cleaned the traditional way. Prefer it classic? We serve our herring with onions and pickles — just the way it should be.

The herring season in The Hague traditionally starts in June with Vlaggetjesdag in Scheveningen. From that moment well into autumn, we serve the freshest Hollandse Nieuwe. Outside the season we always have plenty of options: maatjes herring, soused herring and hearty salted herring straight from the barrel.
