Welcome to the most fun fish spot in The Hague!

Well… fish shop? That was the original plan.

We are Jo, Astrid and our daughter Noah Hop. On 1 April 2021 we opened our doors in the new Kijkduin as a traditional fishmonger. With love for the craft, a passion for great food and our heads full of plans, we set out on our adventure.

But as life sometimes goes, our story took a slightly different turn than expected. While Kijkduin was still being developed, we discovered something important: people didn't just want to take home a nice piece of fish. They also wanted to flop down after a walk on the beach, enjoy something tasty and a good glass of wine. Above all they wanted one thing…

That holiday feeling — right here at home.

A challenge? Absolutely. But also a chance to get creative.

And so, in early 2026, a completely new concept emerged with a fresh interior.

My father, with his years of experience as a fishmonger, kept selecting fish from the wholesalers that fitted our new concept. My mother, with her passion for cooking, dove into the kitchen even more often. And me? I added a fresh twist, an easy-to-read menu, a hip and trendy vibe, and above all a place where everyone feels at home.

Today you can come to us for fish specialties to take away. But you can also pull up a chair for a quick lunch, a cozy drink or an early dinner! Try our famous Fish & Chips with mum's homemade sauce, a delicious sharing platter, fresh oysters and of course a good glass of wine, hand-picked by my father.

So what exactly are we? Honestly, we don't quite know ourselves.

Maybe just a place where you enjoy what we love doing most: beautiful products, great food and lots of good company. Whatever you want to call us, you're more than welcome!
